What Email protocols are we offering?
IMAP:
Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is an Internet standard protocol used by Email clients to retrieve Email messages .
IMAP was designed with the goal of permitting complete management of an Email box by multiple Email clients, therefore clients generally leave messages on the server until the user explicitly deletes them. An IMAP server typically listens on port number 143. IMAP over SSL (IMAPS) is normally assigned the port number 993.
POP3:
Post Office Protocol (POP3) is an application-layer Internet standard protocol used by Email clients to retrieve Email from a mail server. The Post Office Protocol provides access via an Internet Protocol (IP) network for a user client application to a mailbox (maildrop) maintained on a mail server. The protocol supports download and delete operations for messages. POP3 clients connect, retrieve all messages, store them on the client computer, and finally delete them from the server.
SMTP:
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is a communication protocol for electronic mail transmission. As an Internet standard, SMTP was first defined in 1982. Mail servers and other message transfer agents use SMTP to send and receive mail messages. Proprietary systems such as Microsoft Exchange and IBM Notes and webmail systems such as Outlook.com, Gmail and Yahoo! Mail may use non-standard protocols internally, but all use SMTP when sending to or receiving email from outside their own systems. SMTP servers commonly use the Transmission Control Protocol on port number 25.
What is ActiveSync?
ActiveSync allows a mobile device to be synchronized with either a desktop PC or a server running a compatible software product including Microsoft Exchange Server, Axigen, Horde, MDaemon, Novell GroupWise, Tine 2.0, Scalix, etc.
On desktops, ActiveSync synchronizes emails, calendar, contacts and tasks with Microsoft Outlook, along with Internet bookmarks and files. This kind of synchronization ensures that you are up-to-date on all your devices you use for Email (e.g. your mobile phone, your desktop computer and your tablet computer)
Is the Cloud Email Service Managed?
This depends on your assigned hosting plan: For all our managed hosting plans the Cloud Email Service can be managed for you. For the shared hosting plans you must manage your Email on your own.

Limitations of Cloud Email & Operations
Message Limit
All Basic and Enhanced email services are limited to 300 Email sent per day. The primary reason is to limit the potential damage caused by computers infected with spam-sending trojans.
After 300 Emails have been sent from your account, you will receive the following error message when attempting to send further messages: “462 Daily send limit reached. Please try again tomorrow”.
If you need to send more than 300 messages per day as part of your regular operation, please contact: support@polarismail.com and name your the sender Email address you need to lift that limit.
Account Lock
In case your computer gets a virus which will send spam Emails from your account we will lock your account until you will change the password. You will still be able to receive messages, only sending will be blocked.
